First you have to distinguish between love and infatuation. While many great relationships begin as infatuation true love must develop from that and the two should not be confused.
While the hopeless romantics tend to view love much like an infatuation true love can be quite different in many cases. It’s easy to tell if your man is infatuated with you but if you want to know if he’s really in love with you it may mean you have to dig a little deeper.
When a man falls in love with a woman chances are he isn’t calling up his guy friends and talking about how great it is to be in love much like women do. A guy is more reserved and constrained – even scared – by his developing feelings.
You have to play detective at times to figure him out. Like they say actions speak louder than words and taking a look at the consistent actions of your man can reveal a great deal about where his heart is as well as what he’s all about.
Anyone can say anything at any given time but actions take more effort, thought, and planning. This is why actions are key component in figuring out if your man is falling in love with you.
First of all does he do what he says he will? If a man really cares about you he’ll make the effort to follow through on the plans he makes with you. Does he tell you on Friday he’ll take you out to dinner but call later and tell you he’s tired or has made plans with his buddies?
If he’s reliable (an important trait for a partner to have) and follows through despite the fact that he may be tired or other options may arise it shows you that he’s not only serious about you but it’s important to him to show you that and spend time with you.
Another important point to consider is whether or not your man is considerate of your feelings, needs, and wants. Does he do things that show he’s listened and is paying attention to what you like and what you dislike?
For example, does he buy you a puppy after you’ve told him dozens of times what terrible allergies you have to dogs? If so, it’s a sign he may interested but not falling in love just yet.
When a man is truly in love with you he listens, makes an effort, and is open to showing you his feelings in many ways. Don’t lie to yourself if your man isn’t doing these things and think he may be in love eventually. Often women waste a lot of times wishing things would be a certain way when they clearly are not.
If you’re wasting your time in a relationship that isn’t going anywhere move on! You won’t find Mr. Right when you spend all your time waiting for Mr. Wrong to change.
